Fall into STEM

Fall into STEM will lead students to explore the wonders of nature, things oozy and spooky and the science of candy as we celebrate the month of October. Activities are designed to be completed independently with common household items. We have dedicated our team to create and deliver even more STEM programs to engage students who are spending more time at home. Join us for our newest initiative: STEMday Wednesdays for the month of October.

Each Wednesday we will host a variety of themed activities to spark imagination and the mind. Designed for K-6 students, all projects can be completed with household items and little direction from adults. We also encourage older students to lead younger siblings or friends through lessons as well — we’ve made it easy for everyone to pick-up and explore STEM. If you can’t attend in person, you may access resources on-demand anytime after registering.

What’s involved

  • Each afternoon includes a guided session with Tina White, Director of the Young Inventors’ Program that will be recorded and posted to watch later.
  • Lesson plans for the day.
  • Extension activities to leap to the next level of discovery.
  • Materials list (household items).

STEMday Schedule

Wednesday, Oct. 7

Apple Engineering and other engineering feats will test our design and build skills…and our patience as we brainstorm and design towers and structures using fall inspired objects as our bricks.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

A Drop of Blood will explore the components of blood using some basic ingredients and simple techniques.

Wednesday, Oct. 21
